Michael Charest
General Manager
Michael grew up in Massachusetts before relocating to the Phoenix, AZ area where he graduated from Arizona State University. He began his career in hospitality with Embassy Suites Hotels in Scottsdale, AZ. To broaden his initial experience, he joined American Golf Corporation, then the largest golf operations company in the world. He worked at the corporate office in acquisitions and later managed Columbia Country Club in Columbia, MO. After proving himself in Columbia, he was asked to return to the Los Angeles area and manage Mountain Gate Country Club, AGC's premier club. Once he successfully completed his assignment at Mountain Gate, he started his own coaching and consulting business in Kansas City, which focused on helping build leaders in the small business arena. Michael earned a reputation as a sought after professional speaker and trainer. Michael is excited to be back in the club business and is passionate about building a premium experience for the members and guests of Fargo Country Club!
Mark W Johnson
Golf Professional
A Fargo native, Mark is a graduate of both Shanley High School and the University of North Dakota. He has been in the profession of golf since 1990 and joined the PGA in 1991 and becoming a full Class A Member in 1995. Mark has worked at area clubs here and in St. Paul, most recently at the Meadows Golf Club in Moorhead from 1996 to 2005. Ping Golf recently named him their “Club Fitter of the Year” for Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota. Mark and his wife, Pam, have two children, Lucas and Cassandra.

Aaron Porter
Superintendent
Aaron arrived as Superintendent in the fall of 2008 at FCC and has Bachelors of Science degree from Iowa State University in Turfgrass Management. Prior to joining FCC Aaron worked at Des Moines Golf and Country Club, The Wakonda Club, and StoneRidge Golf Club. Aaron is a current class A member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and past president of the North Central Turfgrass Association. Aaron his wife Jennifer has 2 children, daughter Tinsley and son Roman.

Melissa Stiel-Paul
Marketing Director
Melissa works with recruitment of new members, retention of existing members and internal marketing of club events. She is a member of the Professional Club Marketing Association, serving as Chapter President 2010-2012. She was three-time president of the Upper Midwest Membership Directors Association and was a member of their executive team for multiple years. She is active with the local Chamber as an Ambassador for Public Relations, serving as Chair 2012-2013, and was honored with the title of 'Ambassador of the Year' in 2009. Melissa volunteers her time with local charities, including Great Plains Food Bank and Sharehouse.

Kris Kroetsch
Teaching Golf Professional
Kris joined the staff in March of ’08 and has many years of experience as an Assistant Golf Professional. He is well known in the local golf community as both a player and instructor. Chris was named the MN Section PGA Assistant “Player of the Year” in 2007 after winning the Sections Assistant Professional Tournament with Pros from MN, SD and ND. Kris coordinates daily member play, member golf events, Junior Golf, and tournaments. He is an excellent instructor and a popular partner for our members in area Pro-Ams. Kris is a UND grad, and resides in Fargo with his wife Kim.
Torey Ostlund
Executive Chef
A Moorhead Native, Torey grew up and graduated from Moorhead High school. At 15, he got his first restaurant experience as a bus boy. He would watch the cooks and he knew that he wanted to cook. From there he worked his way up the ladder until he landed a sous chef job under a well renowned Fargo chef. From there he gained the Executive Chef position at Oxbow Country Club. He remained there for five years when he decided to step out of the kitchen to be with his family for a year but the kitchen kept calling his name and he took the role here at FCC as Executive Chef. Torey and his wife, Kayla have two beautiful children Addison and Brayden.
Jake Dahl
Tennis Professional
Jake has been actively involved in tennis throughout their entire live and strives to provide a fun learning environment where players of all ages and abilities have the opportunity to compete at the next level. Jake has taught the game professionally for over twelve years and is a United States Professional Tennis Association certified tennis instructor, an MSUM graduate with a degree in business, and also works for a local software company. Jake has the knowledge, expertise, and skills to take anyone’s game to the next level.

Ben Stuber
Director of Finance
An NDSU graduate, Ben began his career as an auditor, working for a local independent public accounting firm. After several years of long hours and lots of travel, Ben moved into the private sector, working for a regional property management company, before ultimately joining the Fargo Country Club in the summer of 2015. As the Director of Finance, Ben oversees the entire finance and accounting department, supervises staff, and is responsible for providing financial information that assists management in making informed and educated business decisions. He prepares financial statements, oversees the annual audit, and ensures proper cash management. Ben works closely with the Board of Directors and Finance Committees, ensuring that the members’ best interests remain intact to foster stability and growth of the Club. Ben and his fiancée reside in south Fargo and enjoy spending time with their friends and family.

Jennifer Porter
Banquet Director
Jennifer moved from West Des Moines, Iowa to Fargo in 2008 with her husband and two kids. Prior to moving to Fargo, she worked at the Principal Financial Group. Jennifer was a stay at home mom from 2008 to 2011 when she started working at the Fargo Country Club where she is currently the banquet director. She enjoys assisting members to book and plan events at the club. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the lakes, and she keeps busy with her kids many activities. Martin Hayes
Assistant Food & Beverage Director, Sommelier
I grew up in Bemidji, Minnesota where I found my love for the food and beverage industry. I have spent time as a server, bartender, cook, manager, sales rep, and wine buyer. Each of these positions gave me a greater understanding of the industry and fueled my passion for wine, beer, and spirits. I am a level-two Wine and Spirits Education Trust certificate holder, and Certified Court of Masters Sommelier. My wife, Kristen, is a kindergarten teacher in Moorhead. We live in Fargo, close to downtown. I am very excited to be a part of the Fargo Country Club team and I look forward to improving your dining experiences.
Blake Itterman
Food & Beverage Director
